Beer Weeks
Beer Weeks are city, or regionally organized, multi-event celebrations showcasing craft beer. They've become increasingly popular over the last year, as they offer even more opportunities to quaff great locally brewed beers over the course of several days at different venues and establishments. Although they all appear in the monthly event calendars, we've organized them here alphabetically for you. Click on the location to show the details and a link.

Alabama: June 4-13
The inaugural Alabama Beer Week will take place at various locations across the state. The festivities will kick off with the fourth annual Magic City Brewfest in Birmingham on June 4-5. Other events (full list TBA on the Beer Week website) will include tastings, include beer dinners, and special beer releases.
Ann Arbor, MI: July 13-24
The inaugural Ann Arbor Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around Ann Arbor. Scheduled events include a beer dinner, a beer class, a special release, a meet-the-brewers event, a tasting of Michigan-brewed cask ales, a beer trivia contest, and a pub crawl through downtown Ann Arbor. Beer Week culminates in the Michigan Brewers Guild's Summer Beer Festival in Ypsilanti (listed separately in the calendar) and an afterglow party.
Atlanta: May 16-22
The inaugural Atlanta Beer Week will be celebrated at various locations in and around Atlanta. The festivities, which begin and end with a ceremonial keg-tappingsat the Brick Store Pub, will include tastings, beer dinners, "meet the brewer" events, cooking with beer demonstrations, educational talks, trivia contests, and special releases.
Baltimore: October 8-18
The second annual Baltimore Beer Week will take place at various locations in around Baltimore. The festivities will begin with the Opening Tap at the Museum of Industry. There were more than 375 events during last year's Beer Week, including an Oktoberfest, a Real Ale festival, beer dinners, tasting events, and appearances by renown brewers. This year's events will be announced on the Beer Week website, and organizers plan to emphasize quality as well as quantity.
Boston: June 11-20
BeerAdvocate.com presents Boston Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in Boston and within the 128 Belt. Beer Week is anchored by the American Craft Beer Fest (listed separately on the calendar). Other events include beer dinners, food and beer pairings, releases and special tastings, brewery tours, pub crawls, and appearances by brewers.
Charlotte: March 18-28
The inaugural Charlotte Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around Charlotte. The festivities begin with a kick-off reception at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery in uptown Charlotte. Other events include tastings of rare and exotic beers, showcases for local and regional breweries, food and beer pairing events, and appearances by major names in the brewing industry.
Cleveland: October 16-23
Cleveland Beer Week, an eight-day celebration of craft brews, will take place at more than 100 locations in Cleveland and Cuyahoga County. More than 700 events are planned, including tastings, beer dinners, demonstrations, leisure activities, educational programs, and specials at 120 bars, restaurants, and specialty grocers. The celebration culminates in BREWzilla (listed separately on the calendar).
Chicago: May 17-23
The Illinois Craft Brewers Guild presents the inaugural Chicago Craft Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in and around Chicago. Events will include brewery tours, beer dinners, pub crawls, "Meet the Brewer" events, limited-edition beer releases, tastings and featured specials on craft beer, and book signings and talks by beer authors and industry experts.
Denver: September 10-19
Denver Beer Fest, a ten-day celebration "of all things beer," will take place at various locations in Denver. Feature events include Oktoberfest and the Great American Beer Festival (listed separately on the calendar). Other events, TBA on the Beer Fest website, include tastings at Denver restaurants, beer-paired dinners, "meet the brewer" nights, beer tappings, and brewery tours.
Detroit: October 15-23
The second annual Detroit Beer Week will take place at locations in and around Detroit. The official launch event, to be held at St Andrew's Hall on October 16, will feature eight local chefs pairing food and beer, live entertainment on all three floors, a rare beer cellar tasting, and a Michigan Spirits Lounge. Beer Week will close with the Detroit Fall Beer Festivals (listed separately on the calendar). The official Beer Week website, which will list other events, will go live shortly.
Indiana: July 11-17
The Brewers of Indiana Guild, which sponsors this event, has not yet posted any details about Indiana Beer Week.
Los Angeles: October 7-17
The second annual LA Beer Week will take place at various locations in Los Angeles and Orange Counties. This 11-day celebration will be anchored by the LA Beer Week Festival (listed separately on the calendar). Other events are expected to include beer dinners, tastings and releases, meet-the-brewer events, a pub crawl, and educational programs.
Louisville: September 24 - October 2
The inaugural Louisville Craft Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around Louisville. This is a nine-day event focused on "education, libation, and celebration in the name of craft beer." More details will be posted on the Louisville Craft Beer Week 's Facebook page.
Milwaukee: September 12-18
GreatBrewers.com presents Milwaukee Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in and around Milwaukee. Events (TBA on the Beer Week website) are expected to include a trade show, beer dinners, brewery tours, meet the brewer events, release parties, and tastings.
Minnesota: May 17-23
The inaugural Minnesota Craft Beer Week took place at various locations in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. Events included beer releases, tastings, meet-the-brewer sessions, a pub trivia game, brewery tours, and food and beer pairings.
New York City: September 24 - October 3
The third annual New York Craft Beer Week will take place at various locations in New York City. Events will likely include several festivals, beer dinners, food and beer pairings, pub crawls, themed walks, and more than 160 unique beers throughout the five boroughs. Passports, which are good for discounted pints at more than 80 participating bars and reduced admission to some events, are available.
Ohio (Athens): July 11-17
Ohio Brew Week, which takes place in Athens, celebrates its fifth anniversary this year. More than 35 venues, many of them within walking distance of one another, will host all of Ohio's craft breweries.The festivities include the Brew BQ Cook-Off and Craft Brew Cooking Competition, two competition in which entrants will use Ohio craft beer in their foods. Other events include formal tastings; beer dinners; cheesemaking demonstrations; beer, cheese and chocolate tastings; comedy night; and Ladies Night and craft beer on tap during the Copperheads baseball game.
Ontario: June 20-26
The Ontario Craft Brewers presents the inaugural Ontario Craft Beer Week. The week-long celebration, which kicks off on Father's Day, will take place at locations throughout the province. Events include tastings, brewery tours, cooking demonstrations, food pairings, beer dinners.
Oregon: July 1-31
The fifth annual Oregon Craft Beer Month will take place at various locations across the state of Oregon. This year's festivities begin with an official kick-off party at McMenamins Hillsdale Brewery, the state's first brewpub, and with a state-wide toast at participating establishments. Other events include beer dinners; brewery tours; releases; meet-the-brewer evenings; and festivals, including the annual Oregon Brewers Festival in Portland (listed separately on the calendar).
Philadelphia: June 4-13
Philly Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around Philadelphia. According to organizers, more than 1,000 events--including beer dinners, releases, tastings, and meet-the-brewer nights--have been scheduled. There are four main events: Smoke 'Em If Yous Got 'Em, a smoked beer and barbecue festival; Forum of the Gods, a discussion featuring notables from the beer community, the 20th annual Jackson Tutored Tastings, led by Randy Mosher; and Zythos America.
Raleigh: August 30 - September 3
The inaugural Raleigh Beer Week will take place at various locations in Raleigh. The festivities will kick off with the East Coast premiere of Bison Honey Basil Cask. Other events include beer dinners, special releases and tastings, a brewers' forum, and meet-the-brewer events. All week long, Beer Week venues will be pouring hard-to-find beer from the New Belgium Brewing Company.
Sacramento: February 22-28
During the last week of February, the Sacramento beer community will host of Sacramento Beer Week. More than 100 events are planned at venues throughout the Sacramento Valley. Events include beer and cider dinners, tastings, trivia contests, a "hophead scavenger hunt," and specially-priced pints.
San Diego: November 5-14 (special preview June 10-13)
The San Diego Brewers Guild presents San Diego Beer Week, a ten-day celebration of the region's brewing heritage, which will take place at various locations throughout San Diego County. Last year's Beer Week was highlighted by the Guild's Beer Festival, which offered more than 80 beers. Other events included "Meet the Brewers" nights; classes on beer, cooking, and homebrewing; beer-friendly food at local restaurants; and releases and special tastings. This year's events will be posted on the Guild's website.
San Francisco: February 11-20, 2011
San Francisco Beer Week is a ten-day celebration which includes more than 150 events throughout the Bay Area, including the Bistro Double IPA Festival, the Toronado Barleywine Festival, and Celebrator's Best of the West Beer Fest. Other events include beer dinners, cheese and beer pairings and other gourmet food events, "meet the brewer" evenings, homebrewing demonstrations, music, films, and a museum exhibition devoted to the history of Bay Area brewing.
St. Louis: April 24 - May 3
St. Louis Craft Beer Week will take place at various locations in and around St. Louis. Events include beer dinners; food and beer pairings; releases and special tastings; beer bingo, a "beer prom," and a "beer tweetup"; and beer education. Craft Beer Week has partnered with the St. Louis Microfest (listed separately in the calendar).
Seattle: May 13-23
Seattle Beer Week, a celebration of craft beer, will take place at various locations in and around Seattle. This year's festivities will kick off at Hale's Brewery, which will brew a special Beer Week beer. Other events include beer dinners, special tastings, meet-the-brewer nights, an "Iron Brewer" challenge, and Beer and Brats at the Ballpark.
Syracuse: September 7-13
GreatBrewers.com presents the third annual Syracuse Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in and around Syracuse. Events at previous Beer Weeks have included beer tastings, a brewery open house, educational programs, and entertainment including a trivia contest and an open house. This year's events will be posted on the Beer Week Facebook page.
Toronto: September 20-26
Toronto Beer Week, Limited, an organization formed by members of the local beer community, presents the inaugural Toronto Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in Toronto. Beer Week, which begins the day after the Toronto Film Festival ends, will include beer dinners, food and beer pairings, meet-the-brewer nights, tastings, pub crawls, trivia nights, and brewing demonstrations.
Vancouver: May 10-17
Vancouver Craft Beer Week, described as Canada's first-ever craft beer week, will take place at more than 20 locations throughout metropolitan Vancouver. Craft Beer Week consists of a series of signature festival events, including Hoppapalooza, along with independently-organized satellite events such as tastings, beer dinners, pub crawls, a women and beer presentation, and a class on cooking with beer.
Washington, DC: August 22-28
The second annual D.C. Beer Week will take place at more than a dozen breweries and 25 restaurants and bars in the nation's capital. Events during this week-long celebration of beer culture include beer dinners, presentations by brewery representatives, tastings, contests, a cruise, and a Washington Nationals baseball game.
