The seventh annual ABQ Beer Week will take place at breweries, bars, restaurants, stores, and other venues in and around Albuquerque. The headline event of this ten-day celebration is ABQ Brews and Blues. There will be dozens of other events, such as beer dinners and beer and food pairings, tours, meet-the-brewer events, release parties, tap takeovers, tastings, and specially-priced drinks.
3: Three Valleys Beer Festival, Dronfield, England
The 2017 Three Valleys Beer Festival will be held at a number of pubs and clubs in the town of Dronfield and surrounding villages. This event is co-organized by local branches of the Campaign for Real Ale. Participating venues will offer a variety of beers and ciders, food, and entertainment; and there is no admission charge. A festival bus will link all the venues with Dronfield railway station.
9-10: Hyper-Local Craft Brewfest, Somerville, MA
The Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts presents the sixth annual Hyper-Local Craft Brewfest, which will take place at The Center for Arts at the Armory in Somerville. This two-day, three-session event will feature the products of dozens of beer, beverage, and food vendors. Brewers will be in attendance. There will also be a homebrewing demonstration, live music, and other entertainment. The price of admission includes complimentary local food samples. A selection of cask ales will be served on Friday evening.
10: Beer, Bourbon & Barbecue Festival, Richmond, VA
Trigger Agency, LLC, presents the Richmond stop on the 2017 Beer, Bourbon & Barbecue Festival tour. It will take place at the Richmond Raceway Complex. This afternoon event will feature unlimited sampling of 60 beers and 40 bourbons. There will also be live rock, blues, and bluegrass music; barbecue and other foods; and seminars led by master distillers, brewmasters, and pit masters. 10: Beerfest The Good One, Santa Rosa, CA
The 26th annual Beerfest The Good One will be held at the Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa. This afternoon event will feature more than 120 beers and ciders from over 60 of northern California’s craft breweries and cideries. There will be live music, food and non-alcoholic beverages for purchase, and a prize raffle. VIP tickets, with early admission and an opportunity to meet the brewers, are available. 10-14: Mondial de la Biere, Montreal, QC, Canada
The 24th annual Mondial de la Biere will be held indoors at the Palais des Congrès and outdoors on Place Jean-Paul-Riopelle in downtown Montreal. This five-day event will feature more than 500 beers from around the world, including hard-to-find beers and beers specially brewed for the festival. There will also be Quebec cider and other food specialties from the province, along with the Mbeer series of conferences and seminars. Admission to the festival is free.
15-17: Homebrew Con, Minneapolis, MN
The American Homebrewers Association presents Homebrew Con, the 39th annual National Homebrewers Conference. It will take place at the Minneapolis Convention Center. This year’s keynote speaker is Omar Ansari, the founder of Surly Brewing Company. There will be an educational program for amateur brewers of every level. Events include a Kickoff Party, the Homebrew Expo & Social Club, and Club Night. The National Homebrew Competition judging and awards ceremony will take place during this event.
16-17: Beer and Bourbon Classic at Pimlico, Baltimore, MD
Trigger Agency, LLC, presents the third annual annual Beer and Bourbon Classic at Pimlico, which will take place at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore. This event, which has been expanded to two days, will feature more than 60 beers and bourbons, live music, and food for purchase. 16-18: Oregon Garden Brewfest, Silverton, OR
Venti’s Cafe presents the 13th annual Oregon Garden Brewfest, which will be held in the Grand Hall at the Oregon Garden Resort. This three-day event will feature more than 120 beers, ciders, and meads from over 65 providers, with an emphasis on Oregon-made products. There will be live music, and food from local vendors will be available for purchase. Festival-goers are invited to explore the resort’s 80 acres of botanical gardens. A Brewer's Tasting Dinner will take place the evening before the festival itself.
17: Lodi Craft Beer Festival, Lodi, CA
The Lodi Tokay Rotary Club presents the third annual Lodi Craft Beer Festival, which will take place at Lodi Lake Park. This event will feature more than 100 beers from over 50 breweries, most of them from California; and brewery representatives will be on hand. There will also be live music; food for purchase from local vendors; and adult games, including Cornhole, Flip Cup, and Giant Jenga. All proceeds will support conservation efforts of Lodi Lake and local charities.
17: Wine, Brews & Blues Festival, Escondido, CA
The Rotary Club of Bonsall presents the 22nd annual Wine, Brews & Blues Festival, which will take place at the California Center For The Arts in Escondido. This evening event will feature beer from many of San Diego's craft breweries, along with a selection of wines. There will also be live music and dancing, a beer and brats courtyard, food from local restaurants, and a silent auction. All proceeds will go to charity.
23-24: Chicago Summer Ale Fest, Chicago, IL
Lou Dog Events presents the second annual Chicago Summer Ale Fest, which will take place at Butler Field inside Chicago’s Grant Park. This two-day event will feature more than 200 beers from over 100 American craft breweries. There will also be live music, and food trucks will be on hand. Early admission tickets are available for both days.
23-25: Portland International Beer Festival, Portland, OR
The 2017 Portland International Beer Festival will be held in Holladay Park at Lloyd Center. This three-day event will feature more than 200 beers from 16 countries, including rare, hard-to-find, and Pacific Northwest beers. Live bands will perform all weekend. There will also be a Grande Beer Garden; food for purchase; a huge lawn for picnickers; and games, including darts, backgammon, checkers, chess, and cards. Admission to the festival itself is free. The festival charity is PetCross.
24: Sound Waves and IPAs, Bridgeport, WV
The Bridgeport Arts Council presents the second annual Sound Waves and IPAs, which will take place at Bridgeport City Park. This afternoon event will feature a variety of domestic and imported beers, including a selection of West Virginia-brewed beers. There will also be live music, food from local restaurants, and artisan vendors. VIP tickets, with early admission and a custom-made beer mug, are available.
25: Battleship New Jersey Craft Beer Festival, Camden, NJ
The Garden State Brewers Guild presents the 21st annual Battleship New Jersey Craft Beer Festival, which will take place aboard the battleship USS New Jersey. This afternoon event will feature beer from more than 30 New Jersey breweries. There will be live music, and food will be available for purchase. 24: Ultimate Funk Beer Fest, Westland, MI
Ashley's, a beer bar in Westland, will host the second annual Ultimate Funk Beer Fest. This afternoon event will feature more than 100 sour “funkified” brews in a wide variety of styles. The selection includes beers spontaneously fermented via open air, inoculated with wild yeast or bacteria strains during barrel aging, or otherwise made using funky ingredients or techniques. Food will be available for purchase.
