2-7: Pig's Ear Beer & Cider Festival, London, England
The East London & City Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 31st Pig's Ear Beer & Cider Festival, which will take place at the Round Chapel in Hackney, London E5. This event, which has been expanded to six days, will feature more than 250 domestic and foreign beers, including cask-conditioned ales, beer from new breweries in Hackney and the rest of London, and more than 30 ciders.
3-7: Portland Holiday Ale Festival, Portland, OR
The Oregon Brewers Guild presents the 19th annual Portland Holiday Ale Festival, which will take place downtown in Pioneer Square. This five-day event will feature more than 50 strong ales including Imperial IPAs, barleywines, winter warmers, and Scotch ales. The venue itself is heated, contains one of the region's largest decorated Christmas trees, and has a clear tent that allows views of the city lights. Sunday’s Beer Brunch will feature at least 16 limited-release Belgian beer tappings. There will also be food for purchase and a prize raffle. Part of the proceeds will go to charity.
6: Valley Forge Beer Festival, Oaks, PA
Starfish Junction and BeerHeads.com present the fourth annual Valley Forge Beer Festival, which will take place at the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with more than 100 beers from 50 local, national, and foreign breweries. In addition, there will be an educational program, and food will be available for purchase. The festival charity is the Committee to Benefit the Children.
