January 31-2: Bent N Bongs Beer Bash, Atherton, England
The Bent N Bongs Charitable Trust, in association with the Wigan Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, presents the 24th annual Bent and Bongs Beer Bash, which will take place at Formby Hall in Atherton. This event will feature around 80 Real Ales, including 24 beers from past years' festivals; food, including Bury black puddings, sausages, and sandwiches; live entertainment; and merchandise. Proceeds will be donated to local charitable causes.
January 31-2: Pendle Beer Festival, Colne, England
The East Lancashire Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the ninth annual Pendle Beer Festival, which will take place at the Muni Theatre in Colne. This year's festival theme is "The Great Outdoors." There will be more than 100 Real Ales, along with ciders, perries, and bottled beers. Food will be available, and there will be live music and a charity prize draw. CAMRA members will be admitted free.
January 31-2: Tewkesbury CAMRA Winter Ales Festival, Tewkesbury, England
The Tewkesbury Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 18th annual Tewkesbury CAMRA Winter Ales Festival, which will take place at George Watson Hall. There will be more than 80 winter ales, with an emphasis on winter ales, stouts, and porters, along with ciders and perries. Locally-sourced food will be available at all sessions.
1: The Art of Beer, Sacramento, CA
The Art of Beer, a "celebration of California craft beer and fine art," will be held at the Fusion International Arts Center in Sacramento. This evening event will feature beer from 20 California breweries, a food pairing area, a silent auction, and an art exhibition. Part of the proceeds will support Ales for Autism and Stanford Youth Solutions.
1-2: Barley Brothers Winter Ale Festival, McCall, ID
The second annual Barley Brothers Winter Ale Festival will take place in McCall. This two-day event, which is part of the McCall Winter Carnival, will feature more than 100 beers, including strong ales and seasonal beers, served in an outdoor biergarten. Friday's session, to be held at Lakeside Downtown McCall, will also feature the inaugural Chili Cup chili cook-off and live bands. Saturday's session, to held at Alpine Village near downtown, will also feature live bands, food, games and contests, and a children's area.
1-2: Chesterfield Beer Festival, Chesterfield, England
The Chesterfield Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 15th annual Chesterfield Beer Festival, which will take place at The Winding Wheel. There will be lunchtime and evening sessions both days. Recent editions of this festival have featured around 120 beers from around the U.K., along with ciders, perries, world beers, and country wines. There will be live entertainment Friday evening and at both Saturday sessions.
1-2: Festiv-Ale, Regina, SK, Canada
Festiv-Ale, A Brewer's Expo, will be held at the Conexus Arts Centre in Regina. This two-day event, presented on behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion, will feature more than 200 beers, along with wine and spirits. There will also be live entertainment, food for purchase, and a Legion Museum display of war artifacts.
1-2: Lichfield Winter Beer & Wine Festival, Lichfield, England
Lichfield Arts presents the 2013 Lichfield Winter Beer & Wine Festival, which will take place at The Guildhall. This community event will feature more than 30 Real Ales, along with traditional ciders, continental beers and a selection of wines. Stray Dog (Friday) and Knoxville Highway (Saturday) are scheduled to perform.
1: Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild Winterfest, St. Paul, MN
The Minnesota Craft Brewers Guild presents the 12th annual Winterfest, which will take place at the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul. This evening event will feature craft beer from the Guild's breweries and brewpubs, live music, Minnesota-inspired food, and beer education. This event is expected to sell out.
1-2: Redditch Winter Ale Festival, Redditch, England
The Redditch & Bromsgrove Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 2013 Redditch Winter Ale Festival, which will take place at Rocklands Social Club. This event will feature 34 Real Ales, along with ciders and perries, and a club bar with food and other drinks. This year's festival charity is the Alzheimer's Society.
1-2: Tonbridge Juddians RFC Beer Festival, Tonbridge, England
The Tonbridge Juddians Rugby Football Club will host its inaugural Beer Festival, which will take place in the clubhouse. Organizers expect to have 30 locally-brewed ales, including some seasonal ales, along with a selection of ciders and perries. Food and soft drinks will be available, and Six Nations rugby will be shown on the big screen on Saturday.
1-2: White Cliffs Festival of Winter Ales, Dover, England
The Deal, Dover, Sandwich & District Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 20th annual White Cliffs Festival of Winter Ales, which will take place at Maison DIeu (Town Hall) in Dover, the country's oldest festival venue. Organizers expect to have about 75 winter and strong ales, all with at least 5% ABV, along with a local cider, from small and independent breweries. Live musical acts will perform on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon, food will be available for purchase, and there will be a CAMRA stall and tombola.
2: AleFest Columbus, Columbus, OH
The 2013 AleFest Columbus will be held at the Aladdin Shrine Center Ballroom. This afternoon event will feature more than 250 craft-brewed beers from over 100 breweries, including an expanded selection of draft and cask-conditioned beers; food available for purchase; live entertainment by Nick Mitchell; beer wearables and merchandise for sale; and a silent auction and raffle.
2: Art & Craft Beerfest, Lansing, MI
I'm a Beer Hound, REO Town Pub, and Mi ArtShare present the 2013 Art & Craft Beerfest, which will take place at 1118 South Washington in Lansing's REO Town. This evening event will feature works from several Michigan artists, beer from a number of Michigan breweries, performances by local musicians, and food from Fork in the Road Artisan Diner.
2: Belgianfest, Seattle, WA
The Washington Beer Commission presents the fourth annual Belgianfest, which will take place at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center on Seattle's waterfront. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with more than 60 Belgian-style beers crafted by Washington breweries. Food will be available for purchase.
2: Border Beer Fest, Laredo, TX
The second annual Border Beer Fest will be held at a new venue, the Laredo Civic Center. This evening event, which organizers describe as "the biggest beer festival in south Texas," will feature a variety of beers from around the world (there were more than 100 at last year's festival); live music; the "Beerlympics"; and educational sessions on homebrewing, the history of beer, and cooking. Proceeds will benefit South Texas Academic Rising Scholars.
2: Buffalo Winter Brewfest, Buffalo, NY
The 2013 Buffalo Winter Brewfest will be held at the Connecticut Street Armory. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with a selection of local, domestic, and imported beers (there were 50 at last year's festival). There will also include appearances by brewery representatives, live music, and food and merchandise vendors.
2-3: Bruges Beer Festival, Bruges, Belgium
The Bruges Autonomous Beertasters, in cooperation with the municipality of Bruges, present the 2013 Bruges Beer Festival, which will take place at De Halletoren at Markt de Bruge. Last year's festival featured more than 250 beers from over 65 Belgian breweries, many with brewers in attendance, along with food from local restaurants.
2: Fond du Lac Brewfest, Fond du Lac, WI
The fourth annual Fond du Lac Brewfest will take place at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Expo Center. This afternoon/evening event will feature an all-Wisconsin lineup of 100 beers from more than 25 breweries. Food from local restaurants will be available, and the Scotty Meyer Band is scheduled to perform. VIP tickets, with early admission and a special tasting, are available. Proceeds will benefit the Solutions Center.
2: Great Beer Expo at the Meadowlands, Secaucus, NJ
Starfish Junction Production presents the third annual International Great Beer Expo, which will take place at the Meadowlands Exposition Center at Harmon Meadow in Secaucus. There will be two tasting sessions, each with more than 100 beers from more than 50 breweries representing 20 different countries; educational seminars; and food for sale. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Beer for Brains Foundation.
2: Queen City Brewers Festival, Charlotte, NC
The second annual Queen City Brewers Festival will be held at the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with an all-Charlotte-area selection of beers, with brewery representatives on hand. There will also be live music and food for purchase. This event will benefit Partners for Parks. Last year's festival sold out.
2: Rhode Island Brew Fest, Pawtucket, RI
Narragansett Beer presents the inaugural Rhode Island Brew Fest, which will take place in the Drill Hall at the Pawtucket Armory. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with more than 100 beers with over 30 breweries, along with live music by The Mighty Good Boys and King Friday. VIP tickets, with complimentary food and a special selection of beers, are available.
2: Zoo Brrrew, Rochester, NY
The Seneca Park Zoo, in Rochester, will host Zoo Brrrew. This evening event will feature an assortment of seasonal beers and New York State wines served inside a heated pavilion; food, including appetizers, "trash plates," Asian food, and desserts; and coffee and soda. The price of admission includes entry to the zoo that night and a free ticket to a Summer Zoo Brew.
6-8: Battersea Beer Festival, London, England
The South-West London Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 22nd annual Battersea Beer Festival, which will take place in the Grand Hall of the Battersea Arts Centre in Lavender Hill. Recent editions of this festival have featured over 150 Real Ales from across Britain; beer from Belgium and Dutch breweries; ciders and perries; and food, including traditional Polish specialties.
7-17: Ashley's Belgian Beer Festival, Westland, MI
Ashley's, a beer bar in Westland, will host its third annual Belgian Beer Festival. The festival, which has been expanded to 11 days, will feature more than 60 draft and 100 bottled Belgian and Belgian-style beers. There will also be a special Belgian menu, a Valentine's Day prix-fixe dinner, and a waffle brunch; happy hours, food and beer pairings; meet-the-brewer events; and trivia and pub games.
7-14: Cincinnati Beer Week, Cincinnati, OH
The second annual Cincinnati Beer Week will take place at dozens of locations in and around Cincinnati. The headline event of this "independent, grass-roots celebration of craft beer" is the Cincy Winter Beerfest (listed separately on the calendar). Other events will include beer dinners, food and beer pairings, meet-the-brewer nights, a "state-to-state" pub crawl, tap takeovers, and releases.
7-9: Fleetwood Beer Festival, Fleetwood, England
The Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 31st annual Fleetwood Beer Festival, which will take place at The Marine Hall. Organizers expect to have more than 120 Real Ales, along with a selection of ciders and foreign beers. There will be live entertainment Friday and Saturday evening.
7: Wines and Beers of the World, Milwaukee, WI
Wines and Beers of the World 2013 will be held at the Milwaukee Zoological Center. This evening event will feature dozens of beers and wines, along with cheese, pizza, desserts, and other snacks. The Primates of the World and Stearns Family Apes of Africa buildings will be open to attendees. VIP tickets, with early admission and a drawing for a behind-the-scenes tour of the zoo, are available. Proceeds from the event will benefit the animals at the zoo.
8-9: Ilkley Beer Festival, Ilkley, England
Ilkley and District Round Table presents the fifth Ilkley Beer Festival, which will take place at Ilkley King's Hall. There will be an evening session on Friday and two sessions on Saturday. Each will feature more than 150 beers, including foreign beers, along with a selection of ciders and perries. Food will be served. All proceeds from the festival will go to local charities.
8-9: KLCC Microbrew Festival, Eugene, OR
The 12th annual KLCC Microbrew Festival will be held at the Lane Events Center Exhibit Hall in Eugene. Recent editions of this festival have been evening events with more than 100 beers from over 50 breweries, including a collaboration beer; live music; snacks, and a music sale with thousands of records and CDs. All proceeds will go to KLCC 89.7 FM, Eugene's National Public Radio station.
8: San Diego Winter Brew Fest, San Diego, CA
Right On Productions presents the 2013 San Diego Winter Brew Fest, which will take place at the Port Pavilion on Broadway Pier. This evening event will feature a variety of craft-brewed beers, live music from three local bands, food, and merchandise vendors. VIP tickets, with early admission, are available. The festival benefits Outdoor Outreach and the San Diego Mountain Bike Association.
8-17: San Francisco Beer Week, San Francisco Bay Area, CA
San Francisco Beer Week, a ten-day celebration of the city's craft beer and brewing, will take place at various locations throughout the Bay Area. Headline events include the Bistro's Double IPA Festival, the Toronado Barleywine Festival, and Celebrator magazine's Best of the West Beer Fest. Other events will include beer dinners and other food and beer events, meet-the-brewer evenings, homebrewing demonstrations, and music and films.
8: San Francisco Beer Week Opening Celebration, San Francisco, CA
The 2013 San Francisco Beer Week Opening Celebration will be held in the East Hall of the Concourse Exhibition Center. This evening event will feature beer from more than 65 Northern California breweries, and the lineup will include new and rare beers. There will be live music curated by Noise Pop, and artisan food for purchase from San Francisco restaurants and food trucks.
9: Blues, Brews & More!, Dayton, OH
Blues, Brews & More!, A Mardi Gras Celebration, will be held at Temple Beth Or in Dayton. This evening event, benefiting the Human Race Theatre Company, will feature a variety of craft beers, an appearance by author Joshua Bernstein, music by Dave Greer's Classic Jazz Stompers, and food provided by El Meson and Bernstein’s Fine Catering.
9: DeLand Craft Beer Festival, DeLand, FL
The fourth annual DeLand Craft Beer Festival will be held downtown in historic Artisian Alley. This afternoon event will feature more than 100 domestic and imported beers, including rare and cask-conditioned selections. There will also be a homebrew competition and demonstration, industry-led breakout sessions, prize raffles, and an artwork auction. An after-party, to take place at various locations in DeLand, will follow the festival itself.
9: Lincoln Square Winter Brew, Chicago, IL
The Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce and the Square Kegs Home Brew Club present the second annual Lincoln Square Winter Brew, which will take place at the Dank Haus in Chicago's Lincoln Square. This evening event will feature the products of six local breweries plus a distillery; food provided by The Grafton Pub and Fountainhead; and a homebrew competition.
9: Traverse City Winter Microbrew & Music Festival, Traverse City, MI
Porterhouse Productions presents the fourth annual Traverse City Winter Microbrew & Music Festival, which will take place in Parking Lots B and T in the Traverse City Farmers Market. This afternoon/evening event will feature more than 200 beers, ciders, meads, and wines; heated tents and fire pits; live local and national music acts; a variety of local food vendors; the festival's Hop 'N Brew tasting shack; and a silent disco tent. 9: Winter Beer Carnival, Atlanta, GA
Premier Events presents the fourth annual Winter Beer Carnival, which will take place in the special events area of Atlantic Station in Atlanta. This carnival-themed afternoon event will feature an expanded selection of more than 100 beers, with an emphasis on winter beers, along with midway games, with prizes awarded. Food from local restaurants will be available for purchase. VIP tickets, with early admission and a special selection of beers, are available.
10: Pike Chocofest, Seattle, WA
Pike Brewing Company, in Seattle, will host the fifth annual Chocofest. This evening event, which takes place the Sunday before Valentine's Day, will feature beer from more than 15 breweries, including Pike-brewed beer; wine and distilled spirits; chocolate from a dozen chocolatiers; food from a variety of local restaurants; and cheese, baked goods, oysters, and coffee. The festival is a benefit for Puget Soundkeeper.
11-13: French Craft Brewers Event, Chicago, IL
French Craft Brewers, a guild consisting of nine craft breweries, will take part in a tasting event in Chicago. Events will include a meeting with industry professionals at The Publican on Monday afternoon, followed by a beer dinner and tap takeover (open to the public) that evening; a beer dinner and tap takeover at Binny's South Loop on Thursday evening; and a meet-the-brewers event at Hopleaf on Wednesday evening. Beers from the participating breweries can be found at select liquor stores and bars in the city
14-16: Warwick University Real Ale Festival, Coventry, England
The Warwick University Real Ale Society presents the 34th annual Annual Warwick University Real Ale Festival, which will take place at The Copper Rooms on the University of Warwick Campus in Coventry. Recent editions of this festival have featured more than 100 Real Ales, along with "tens of ciders," as well as live entertainment.
15-16: Boston Spa Beer Festival, Boston Spa, England
The Boston Spa Village Hall Management Committee, along with the Friends of St. Mary's School and the Jazz in the Spa, present the fifth annual Boston Spa Beer Festival, which will be held at the Village Hall. Last year's festival featured more than 120 Real Ales, many of them from Yorkshire, along with live entertainment both days. Proceeds will go to projects at the Village Hall and St. Mary's School.
15-16: Cincy Winter Beerfest, Cincinnati, OH
The sixth annual Cincy Winter Beerfest will take place at the Duke Energy Convention Center. More than 350 beers will be available at the festival, which is part of Cincinnati Beer Week. Last year's festival also featured food from local restaurants and cigar and bourbon sampling. There will be a (new this year) Trade Show & Locals Tasting Session before Saturday evening's session. VIP tickets, with early admission, and connoisseur tickets with early admission and a special selection of beers, are available.
15-16: Confluence Wine, Beer, Seafood & Music Festival, Reedsport, OR
The Reedsport/Winchester Bay Chamber of Commerce presents the 2013 Confluence Wine, Beer, Seafood & Music Festival, which will take place at the Community Center in Reedsport. This two-day event will feature beverages from the area's breweries and wineries, craft and food vendors, live bands and solo performers, ice sculpting, and chef demonstrations.
15-17: Hucknall Beer Festival, Hucknall, England
The 2013 Hucknall Beer and Cider Festival will be held at the John Godber Centre. This festival, produced with the assistance of the Nottingham Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, will feature a variety of cask beers (there were 30 at least year's festival), along with ciders and perries mainly from smaller producers. Last year's festival also included a farmers' market Saturday afternoon and live music Saturday evening. Admission to daytime sessions is free.
15-18: Max's Belgian Beer Festival, Baltimore, MD
Max's Taphouse, a beer bar in Baltimore, will host its 2013 Belgian Beer Festival. On Friday through Sunday, more than 200 Belgian and Beligan-style beers will be available on draft, plus another 200 in bottles. There will also be a full Belgian-inspired food menu. On Monday there will be a (new this year) special release of more than 20 American sour beers on draft, plus over 20 sour American bottled beers.
15-16: Merton Winter Beer Festival, Merton, England
The 2013 Merton Winter Beer Festival will be held at Merton Village Hall. This two-day event will feature more than 20 beers, along with a selection of ciders and perries, Hot food will be available for purchase.
15-24: Omaha Beer Week, Omaha, NE
The second annual Omaha Beer Week will take place at a variety of establishments in the Omaha metropolitan area. Events during this ten-day celebration will include a Craft Beer Bus Crawl, meet-the-brewer events, dinners and other beer and food pairings, a homebrew competition, and releases and special tastings. Commemorative pint glasses will be available.
15-16: Ramsbottom Beer Festival, Ramsbottom, England
Irwell Works Brewery presents the second annual Ramsbottom Beer Festival, which will take place at the Ramsbottom Civic Hall. This two-day event will feature more than 50 Real Ales from Lancashire microbreweries, all on hand pump, along with English and continental bottled beers. Food will be available, and there will be live music. The festival is a fund-raiser for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.
15: Winter BrewFest, Missoula, MT
Downtown Missoula presents the 2013 Winter BrewFest, which will take place at Caras Park. This evening event will feature more than 30 beers on tap, a wine bar, food, and live music.
16-23: Arizona Beer Week, various locations, AZ
The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild presents the third annual Arizona Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in cities throughout the state. Previous Beer Weeks have featured more than 250 events including special tastings, beer dinners, a "Kegs and Eggs" breakfast, educational seminars, a Light Rail Pub Crawl, and the Arizona Strong Beer Fest (listed separately on the calendar).
16: Arizona Strong Beer Festival, Phoenix, AZ
The Arizona Craft Brewers Guild presents the 13th Annual Arizona Strong Beer Festival, which will take place at Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix. This afternoon event, which kicks off Arizona Beer Week, will feature a huge variety of craft beers, with an emphasis on high-gravity beers. A number of special festival beers will be available. There will also be live music and food for purchase.
16: Big Beer Festival, Tacoma, WA
West Mini presents the 2013 Big Beer Festival, which will take place at the Petrich Marine Dock, located on the Foss Waterway in downtown Tacoma. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with more than 60 "big" beers from 20 invited breweries. There will be live entertainment and food for purchase at both sessions. The festival charity is the YWCA of Pierce County.
16: Big Brew Festivals, Morristown, NJ
The Big Brew Beer Festival, originally scheduled for last December 8 at the Garden State Exhibit Center, has been rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy. It will be held at the Morristown Armory from 3:30 to 8pm. It will feature a variety of craft and imported beers. Food will be available for purchase, The Nerds are scheduled to perform, and there will be games and other entertainment. VIP tickets, with early admission, are available. Those holding tickets for this festival may either ask for a refund or use them for the rescheduled event.
16: Brewz Crewz Craft Beer Festival, Lakeland, FL
The fourth annual Brewz Crewz Craft Beer Festival will be held in Munn Park in downtown Lakeland. This evening event will feature a selection of craft beers (there were about 100, from around 40 breweries, at last year's festival), along with live music and food from local restaurants. VIP tickets, with early admission, are available. Proceeds will benefit ElderPoint Ministries and the Downtown Lakeland Partnership.
16-17: Chesapeake Oyster & Beer Festival, National Harbor, MD
Trigger Agency, LLC, presents the 2013 Chesapeake Oyster & Beer Festival, which will take place at the Gaylord National Resort at National Harbor. This is a two-day, three-session event. Last year's festival featured more than 20 beers and wines; all-you-care-to-taste oysters, Frogmore stew, and other seafood dishes; live music, and exhibits. VIP tickets, with early admission, are available for Saturday afternoon's session.
16: Food & Froth Fest, Milwaukee, WI
The Friends of the Milwaukee Public Museum present the 15th annual Food & Froth Fest, which will take place at the museum. This evening event will feature more than 200 beers, including seasonal beers, from Midwestern and international breweries; a prize raffle; entertainment; and food from local providers. VIP tickets, with early admission and five free raffle tickets, are available. Proceeds will benefit the museum's exhibits and educational programs.
16: New Mexico Cup, Albuquerque, NM
Feel Good Festivals presents the 2013 New Mexico Cup, which will take place at the Albuquerque Convention Center. This afternoon event will feature the products of dozens of New Mexico breweries and wineries. The best beers and wines will be chosen in professional, celebrity, and public voting competitions. There will also be live music, educational events, raffles, games, and vendor booths. VIP tickets, with early admission, are available. This year's festival charity is Tricklock Theater Company.
16: Roc City Brewfest, Rochester, NY
The third annual Roc City Brewfest will be held at the Main Street Armory in Rochester. There will be afternoon and evening tasting sessions, each with a variety of craft beers (there have been around 100 at recent editions of this festival) along with live music, merchandise vendors, and food. This year's festival will be a celebration of the Irish.
16: Winter Beer Fest, Woodland Park, CO
The Bristol Brewing Company presents the third annual Winter Beer Fest, which will take place at downtown Woodland Park. This afternoon event will feature beer from nine local microbreweries, along with live music and snacks.
16-17: WinterBrewed Festival, Ottawa, ON, Canada
The inaugural WinterBrewed Festival will be held at Mail Sparks Street Mall, Ottawa's oldest pedestrian mall. This two-day event, presented by the organizers of National Capital Craft Beer Week, will feature seasonal craft-brewed beer; artisanal food; winter games, including a snowman-building competition; and children's activities.
16: Zwickelmania, various locations, OR
The Oregon Brewers Guild presents the fifth annual Zwickelmania, a state-wide brewery open house. Dozens of breweries will invite beer lovers for go on tours, meet the brewers, and taste their favorite beers. There will be free shuttle buses in Bend, Eugene, and Portland to take visitors to multiple breweries in town.
17: Celebrator Anniversary Bash, Berkeley, CA
Celebrator Beer News presents its 25th Anniversary Bash, which will take place at the Oakland Convention Center Marriott Hotel. This afternoon/evening event will feature beer from 55 breweries, 25 of which have been in existence at least 25 years. The lineup will also include a special festival beer. Celebrator writers, beer industry luminaries, and craft beer pioneers will be in attendance. Food will be available There will be a VIP/media session an hour before the celebration itself.
17: Midwinter Brew Fest, Milwaukee, WI
The Milwaukee Ale House will host the 16th Annual Midwinter Brewfest, which will take place at its downtown Milwaukee location. 20-23: Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival, Chelmsford, England
The Chelmsford & Mid-Essex Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale present the 14th annual Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival, which will take place at a new and larger venue, the King Edward VI Grammar School. There will be 200 Real Ales, with an emphasis on winter beers, along with over 50 Real Ciders and perries and a wide selection of imported beers. Food will be served throughout the festival.
20-23: Derby Winter Beer Festival, Derby, England
The Derby Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 12th annual CAMRA Winter Beer Festival, which will take place at Derby College’s Roundhouse campus, located behind Derby’s railway station. This event will feature a selection of Real Ales (there have been around 300 at recent festivals) including ales that are new and rare to Derby, Real Cider, continental bottled beers, and wine. There will also be a live entertainment; and food, including a cheese stall, crisps, and chocolate.
21-23: "Ale & Arty," the Stockton Beer Festival, Stockton on Tees, England
The Cleveland Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents "Ale & Arty," the Stockton Beer Festival, which will take place at ARC in Stockton on Tees. Recent editions of this festival have featured more than 80 Real Ales, ciders, and perries, along with live entertainment, food at all sessions, and a tombola.
21-23: Liverpool Beer Festival, Liverpool, England
The Liverpool & District Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 33rd annual Liverpool Beer Festival, which will take place at the Metropolitan Cathedral Crypt in Liverpool. More than 200 Real Ales will be available, along with a selection of ciders, perries, fruit wines, and soft drinks. Food will be available, and there will be entertainment during evening sessions.
21-23: Luton Beer and Cider Festival, Luton, England
The South Bedfordshire Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 30th Luton Beer and Cider Festival, which will take place at the Hightown Sports & Arts Centre. Organizers expect to have at least 110 Real Ales, 16 ciders and perries, and country wines. Recent editions of this festivals have also featured food for purchase, live music at some sessions, and voting for the Beer of the Festival.
21-23: Winter Warmer Montreal, Montreal, PQ, Canada
Broue Pub Brouhaha, Bières et Plaisirs and Les Coureurs des Boires present the third annual Winter Warmer Montreal. This event will feature beer from more than 20 Quebec microbreweries, including a selection of grands crus and vintage ales; a gastronomical menu to pair with the beers; and live music.
22-23: Alton Winter Beer Festival, Alton, England
The 2013 Alton Winter Beer Festival will be held at Alton College. Recent editions of this two-day, three-session festival, which celebrates Alton's brewing tradition, have featured around 65 Real Ales from two dozen breweries, along with a variety of food for purchase.
22: Art of Beer, Niagara Falls, NY
The Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, in Niagara Falls, will host the seventh annual Art of Beer. This evening event, which is the center's premier fund-raising event, will feature craft beer, much of it from western New York; live music; local food vendors; and displays of brewery art and breweriana.
22-23: Clarens Craft Beer Festival, Clarens, South Africa
The 2012 Clarens Craft Beer Festival will be held at Clarens Village Square, a picturesque venue surrounded by the Maluti Mountains. This event, which has been expanded to two days, will feature more than 50 craft beers and ciders from across the country; live entertainment, German-style food, and a children's play area.
22-23: Gosport Winterfest XXI, Gosport, England
The Plymouth and South East Hants branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents Gosport Winterfest XXI, which will take place at Thorngate Halls in Gosport. Recent editions of this festival have featured more than 80 Real Ales, along with Real Ciders and bottled beers; a Beer of the Festival competition; and live entertainment at all sessions.
22-23: Hop Scotch Spring Beer & Scotch Festival, Seattle, WA
Seattle International Film Festival presents the 2013 Hop Scotch Spring Beer and Scotch Festival, which will take place at the Fremont Studios in Seattle. This indoor event will feature more than 80 beverages, including beer, wine, Scotch, and tequila. Food will be available for purchase. Hop Scotch is a benefit for SIFF.
22-March 3: New York City Beer Week, New York, NY
The New York City Brewers Guild presents the fifth Annual New York City Beer Week will take place at more than 100 venues in New York City. All 12 of the city's craft breweries will take part. The three signature events are the Opening Night Party at Galapagos Art Space, NYC Brewer's Choice at City Winery, and the Closing Party at La Birreria at Eataly. Other events will include beer dinners and brunches, meet-the-brewer events, tap takeovers, pub trivia, tastings, and releases.
22: Peterson Homebrew Competition and Festival, Colorado Springs, CO
The Brew Brothers of Pikes Peak present the eighth annual Peterson Homebrew Competition, which will take place at The Club at Peterson Air Force Base near Colorado Springs. This evening event will feature samples of homebrew entries and local microbrews, food, and live jazz and rock music. Gold, silver, and bronze medals, designed for this event, will be awarded in each category; and a best in show award for beer and a best mead/cider award will be given.

The Sacramento beer community presents the fourth annual Sacramento Beer Week, which will take place at various locations in the Sacramento Valley. 23: Austin Specialty Beer Festival, Austin, TX
KROX, KLBJ, and KGSR present the inaugural Austin Specialty Beer Festival, which will take place at Fiesta Gardens in downtown Austin. The Ohio Craft Brewers present the seventh Cleveland Winter Warmer Festival, which will take place at the FirstEnergy Powerhouse in Cleveland. This afternoon event will feature 75 "big brews" from Ohio breweries, including rare releases; and live entertainment by blues artist Austin Walkin' Cane.

Beertopia, a beer bar in Omaha, presents the seventh annual Extreme Beerfest, which will take place at the Ramada Inn Plaza in Omaha. The New London Chamber of Commerce presents its fifth annual Beer Tasting, which will take place at the Crystal Falls Banquet Facility. Proceeds will go to local charities.
28-March 2: Bradford Beer Festival, Saltaire, England
The Bradford Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 2013 Bradford Beer Festival, which will take place at Victoria Hall in Saltaire. The festival will feature more than 100 Real Ales, along with ciders and foreign beers, served at six bars. Hot and cold food will be sold at all sessions, there will be entertainment Friday evening and at both Saturday sessions, and a children's room will be available during lunchtime sessions.
28-March 2: CAMRA Wigan Beer Festival, Wigan, England
The Wigan Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale presents the 26th annual CAMRA Wigan Beer Festival, which will take place at a larger venue, the Robin Park Indoor Sports Centre. Recent editions of this festival have featured more than 80 Real Ales, ciders, perries, and foreign beers. There will be live entertainment at all sessions except Friday's matinee, along with games and a tombola. CAMRA members will be admitted free and a courtesy bus will run between the town center and the venue.
28-March 2: Sussex Beer Festival, Hove, England
The Sussex Branches of the Campaign for Real Ale present the 23rd annual Sussex Beer Festival, which will take place at Hove Centre. Organizers expect to have more than 200 Real Ales, along with more than 40 ciders and perries and specialty beers from around the world.
